Wait, what day is it?

Valentine’s Day? I have no idea what you’re talking about. That’s the day when your mom gets you a box of chocolates, right? No? Romance? Significant other? Yeah, no idea.

Seriously though, I have never actually celebrated V-Day. Probably because I have never actually been in a relationship, but that’s just a minor detail we can overlook. And today was no different.

What kind of romantic things did I do today? Oh, I’ll tell you. First, I treated myself to a nice breakfast of cereal and tea, while watching some Starcraft 2 videos. Oh yes. Next, I accompanied my friend to lunch and talked with him for a bit. He is gay, but we’re just friends, so no romance involved. After lunch, I took myself on a dreamy date to the local community college, so that I could pay my application fee and ask some questions. (Yes, that’s right, college. Again. More on that later!) Ohh, tell me more!

After my little date, I took myself back to my place, and played some Brain Age. Gotta keep that brain in shape. And to top it all off? I spent the rest of the night babysitting my little sister—mmm yes, you know nothing says loving like babysitting.

So all-in-all, it was a completely normal, (although very productive) unromantic day. Just like any other. And chances are it will continue to be like that for some time because I honestly have no idea how to date. What do?

But seriously, what am I supposed to do on Valentine’s Day when I’m single? My co-worker asked me what I would be doing the other day and I told him pretty much nothing. And he didn’t understand why I would be doing nothing. I mean…what am I supposed to do? Go speed dating and find someone, anyone to spend the day with? And then by the power of Cupid, our relationship will work, because it’s ~Valentine’s Day~?

No. Not at all. I am supposed to take myself on a romantic not-date-but-actually-just-a-day-of-errands.

But enough about me (for now), what did you lovebirds do for Valentine’s Day, besides sigh dreamily as you thought about me?
