Herp Derp Shipping
I’ve ordered from Newegg many times before, and I’ve always been satisfied with the prices and the merchandise. But one thing that never failed to impress me is how quickly I would receive my orders with just the basic shipping!
Their basic shipping estimates 4-7 days, but I’d usually get it after 2-3 days (assuming I didn’t order it over the weekend, when they don’t process orders). Granted, they have a shipping facility in the same state as me, but it’s still nice to get your package quickly!
However, for my most recent order, I can’t say that the delivery has been most impressive. Now, this doesn’t really reflect Newegg as much as it does their delivery service. What they do is have DHL (a shipping company like FedEx, UPS, etc.) take the package and then hand it off to the US postal service. This is fine with me, except this time it seems DHL is taking its damn time to hand off the package. Let me show you the route it has traveled thus far:

Point A is the shipping facility where it originated. Point B is Maryland, WHERE IT WENT INSTEAD OF MY HOUSE. Point C is my house. As you can see, B is not near C at all. So what I’m wondering is WHY did it go to Maryland when my house is closer?
I’m sure there’s some stupid reason regarding their normal procedures based on where I live. But I used to live about 20 miles away and it never went to Maryland. Now it goes to Maryland. Also, I live down the street from a post office.
I was hoping to get the package today, but now I’m having my doubts that I will. I suppose my laptop will continue to sit disassembled on my desk while I wait for my thermal paste.
Hello, my name's Josh and I might be a hipster (you decide!). I've been blogging and designing in some form for the past eight or so years and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it (once again, you decide!). I love indie music, coming of age stories, sarcasm, video games, and aesthetics. At the moment I'm working part-time and going to college with hopes of being a web designer.
