Greetings From Tofurky Land!

Greetings from Tofurky Land postcard

Yes, it’s Thanksgiving in the US and I’m here in Tofurkyland, aka my house with a tofurky! So now it’s time for me to tell you all what I’m thankful for, despite how often I complain about everything.

I’m very thankful for my family. We might not always see eye to eye, but my family is still great. Especially my mom. She’s so supportive and loving, no matter what I do. When so many teens out there have families that don’t support them because they’re gay or they don’t want to go to college, I’m SO thankful that my family loves me no matter what.

I’m also thankful that I managed to get a job when the economy is still recovering and unemployment is still so high. Millions are unemployed and looking for work to support themselves and their families, and I’m very grateful for my job, even if I do whine about it.

I’m very thankful for my awesome friends! Both online and offline. They’re always there for me and SO supportive and just generally amazing people! :D I really don’t know what I’d do without my friends. They’re terrific.

And of course, I’m thankful for all the commodities I have that some people do not. I’m thankful that I have a house to live in, food to eat, clothes to wear and clean water, just to name a few. I’m also thankful for the luxuries I have but don’t need. And I’m not going to say I’m thankful that I live in the best country in the world, but I am thankful to live in the USA, despite its shortcomings. People always joke about how awful the US is and how crazy everyone is. But really, I’m grateful that I live here and not in a country where there are far fewer, if any, freedoms available.

Yup, despite a certain asshole trying to bring me down, I’m still thankful on this Thanksgiving! :D

For those of you who live in the US, what are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? For those of you who live elsewhere, tell me what you’re thankful for anyway! Or tell me, “Thanksgiving already passed!”/”Thanksgiving hasn’t arrived yet!” :P
