HELP!
I need some braces! Help! Not just any braces! Help! Corrective braces! Hee-ee-eelp!
Ahem.
I am going to tell you a story. BRACE yourself for it1. Okay, here goes:

Word count: 1000. As you can see, my mouth is a goddamn mess. You can’t even see it in that picture, but my lower canines are pushed down in front of my teeth, similar to my one upper canine.
I’ve needed braces since I was like…12 or 13? It was probably apparent when I was a kid that my mouth would be overcrowded, since instead of baby teeth, I had adult teeth. You know how kids have teeth that are spaced apart? Yeah. Mine weren’t. They were together, like adult teeth. And then I got MORE adult teeth and my mouth was like: WHOASHIT WHAT DO I DO WITH THESE? And so my mouth pushed them every which way to make room.
Anyway. I’ve needed braces for a long time, but we’ve never really had the money or dental insurance to get them. And my teeth are kinda sorta very embarrassing. I mean, at this point I accept it. It’s out of my control for the time being. I’ll get them fixed when I have money, but right now, I just have to deal. So I am dealing. But I still never really smile for pictures or anything. I’ll usually try to cover my mouth when I laugh. It’s not like perfect teeth are everything, but my one upper canine is just so out of place it’s like OMG GTFO UPPER CANINE. YOU ARE CRAMPING MY SMILE.
But, uh, yeah. Basically I’m just going to save up money, hopefully have a job ONE DAY2 and ask the orthodontist if there is some type of charity dental care/if I can make really small payments/SOMETHING.
Until then, I will continue dealing with it. I hope anyone who has bad teeth feels better looking at mine. :P
ETA: I forgot to mention that my lip started bleeding when I was taking a demonstration picture. How convenient. That is why there is red on my lip. But let’s pretend that I just got into a FIGHT with someone who insulted my HONOR. And I kicked ass, only walking away with a bloody lip.
1 Haha, get it? Brace? I need braces? Yeeeah
2 I have been trying for months. No one wants to hire me. They are all jerks.
Hello, my name's Josh and I might be a hipster (you decide!). I've been blogging and designing in some form for the past eight or so years and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it (once again, you decide!). I love indie music, coming of age stories, sarcasm, video games, and aesthetics. At the moment I'm working part-time and going to college with hopes of being a web designer.

I need braces too. Still, though, you should smile in pictures. Show your teeth, especially, if the camera is farther away. Then, when you look at pictures you’ll notice that it’s probably not as bad as you think? Anyway, good luck on finding that job. :D

My teeth looked kind of like yours before I had braces. My two upper front teeth were growing over each other. Some teeth were pushed to the back, others the front. I didn’t like smiling in pictures either. I got braces when I was fourteen and I still have straight teeth! Hooray! So I hope that you’ll be able to find a job soon because it’s such a relief having a nice smile.

My teeth are much worse then yours, so feel better :). I’ve just learned over time that anyone that’s going to be an asshole to me over my teeth isn’t worth my time anyway. It’s also made me a ton less judgmental, since I didn’t purposefully, or neglectfully ruin my teeth, it was genetic. So I tend to think the same way when I see something off about a person. Assume the best, rather then the worst.
Reply: Oh, yeah, I’ve definitely become less self-conscious about my teeth. But it’s just something I want to fix, ya know? It’s like the one thing I have a problem with. Not to mention, there is literally not enough room in my mouth, and my teeth are too close together, which makes it easier for plaque to form. :x And I need my wisdom teeth yanked. Sooo, yeah. Money.

Oh. I had braces, I first got them when I was 18. Then I got them out and my teeth went back to the way they were before. Then I got some again (on my top) and then after they came out I got a wire put in which will stay for life.
I didn’t like my bottom teeth so I got braces about a year ago (with 27!) for about 3-6 months (can’t remember). They cost quite a lot but they were worth it. I made payments, otherwise I couldn’t have paid.
Good luck with finding a job and getting braces ;)

Well… your teeth look really white, at least? :P
I hope you can get them! Having them kind of sucks for awhile, because it’s painful and you sort of feel like a nerd, but they’ve made me feel so much more confident because my teeth don’t suck anymore. But they are expensive. Mine are $1500+$150 per month. I’ll probably have mine for 9 months, so that’s like… a lot of money. Yep.
Reply: That is just nice lighting, mostly. ;-; My teeth are not very evenly colored, because the top half is always covered by my lips, and I have weak enamel. The very bottom of my two front teeth are actually a bit translucent because of enamel wear… D:

I got braces at an early age, though my teeth were never really bad. I was 10 or so and didn’t pay for them…but I’m pretty sure they’re a LOT of money (basically what Clem said). I hope you find a job and manage to get them if your teeth really bother you though.
They do look quite crowded, but in every other picture I’ve seen of you/your Vlog, I haven’t really noticed. So yeah, what Chantelle said :)

I don’t have any type of dental either and I have so much that I need done to my teeth. My boyfriend (we are fixing to get married next month) said I should ask for dental work for our wedding gift because he knows how bad my teeth/month hurts all the time.
I have need braces forever. I have teeth that over lap and push each way. I feel your pain. I hope you can get it taken care of it. It truly hurts and you feel bad about yourself because of it and it’s not even your fault. *hugs* I wish you luck honey! :)

Dude, you should’ve worked in a Lady Gaga reference somewhere.
Braces are way too crazily expensive. Mine were $3000+, and I still have a slight overbite. Oh well. Damn my adult teeth for being a million times bigger than my baby teeth. (I actually had tons of little tiny teeth with spaces in between them when I was little! And then my adult teeth EXPLODED.)
And yeah! I echo what everyone else said about still smiling. You don’t need perfect teeth to have a charming smile.
Reply: Ah, my bad! Show me ya teeth. ;D

I’m such a goofball, but I love uneven teeth. Something about imperfections being charming. I feel your pain though, I’m self-conscious about my own crooked teeth (I know – weird that I like it in others but hate it myself!) I think if I ever had the “spare” cash, first I’d get my vision corrected, and then braces!

You know, I had the same problem as you, but my orthodontist actually STRETCHED my jaw so I had all kinds of room.. I was really young though and apparently my bones were pretty soft so it might be a different story :(
